I have been an active member of the camera club for many years and enjoy so many aspects of the club including the friendship, the talks, competitions and also the ability to help others with their photography. I have been the publicity secretary since 2019 and am delighted to be the chair in 2022.

Photography Based Weekends
Annual Weekend Away
Each year the club runs a long weekend away in an interesting part of the country for fun, games and photography.
This is a great social weekend for members and their partners and friends to get together around photography and see and photograph an area we wouldn’t normally visit.

I’ve always had a camera to take family photos but when my children became teenagers they “asked” me to stop taking their photo. I had to find something else to photograph. I was keen to take flower and macro photos but didn’t know how to. I joined the camera club to learn how to use my camera properly and to get off the auto mode. It’s also been great to meet other photographers.

Open to all, our popular Tuesday evening walks over the summer break are a great way to meet existing members and improve your photography in a social setting.
Annual exhibition
See your images on display in Stortford
Every year we hold an Exhibition for the public to see our images. Held in the centre of Bishop’s Stortford this is a popular event following which we have a celebratory dinner and awards ceremony.
We are a member of The East Anglian Federation (EAF) of Photographic Societies
The EAF is a constituent founder Member of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB), which is the parent organisation for camera clubs and photographic societies throughout the UK.
Having 121 member clubs and societies with in excess of 4000 individual members, the EAF is now the largest federation in the PAGB covering the area of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and that part of Hertfordshire which lies to the east of the M1 motorway.
