Chairman’s Ephemera 2013-06-30

Ema EvansHi Everyone,

Well it’s that time again: my weekly update, so I guess it must mean it’s Sunday night already. How lovely it was to finally see a bit of sunshine. I hope you all managed to get out and take some pictures.

So, I begin this week with the sad news that John Godfree, Vice President of the Club, passed away peacefully last week. John’s funeral is on Thursday, 4th July at St. Mary’s Church, Meesden at 2pm. The family have asked for no flowers but rather for donations to the church or to his Nature Reserve, so please bear that in mind if you wish to contribute. They have also requested that no black be worn, as it is to be a celebration of his life. John was a fantastic photographer who loved natural history and was a huge supporter of the club. He will be missed by us all.

On Tuesday we are doing a town walk, with lots of opportunities to practice your street photography. We are meeting in Baroosh (on the square) at 7.45. I will definitely see you there. Brian has found the flowing clips with tips to brush up on before the walk;

The new programme for the winter season has been confirmed and can now be viewed on the website.

Andrew has requested that if you have any images from the sculpture shoot on Thursday that you would like to share, then please use this Dropbox folder (not your club competition Dropbox folder)

Finally, the Photo of the Month competition is now closed for June but there still seems to be some confusion about how you enter. Basically, if you post your pics on Flickr, Facebook or email them to myself or Brian, they will be considered. I will announce June’s winner next week. Jonathon’s Spitfire is hanging proudly in the window of Photosound… if you would like your image there next month, get snapping!

Have a lovely week,

Emma x
