Hello Fellow Photographer,

Welcome to an early weekly newsletter as we have some urgent information to pass on to you:

  • Tuesday 25th October Meeting
  • Revised DPI Competition Dates and hand-ins
  • The Camera World Show 2016

Tuesday 25th October Meeting

This Tuesday’s meeting is a workshop date – so bring your laptops, cameras, tripods and if you have them, flashes. We have a number of events going on:

  • Lighting a Halloween still life – Bill Edwards will show you how to light a Halloween still life with studio lights.
  • Print mounting using the club’s mount cutter – fancy entering the print competitions (we saw some great entries in Tuesday’s competition) – Andy Thorpe will show you how easy it is to mount your stunning photographs with the club’s mount cutter (which is available for hire at very reasonable rates 😉 )
  • Lightroom for Beginners – Frank Smith will run a two part course covering Importing and Organising Lightroom and followed, after coffee break, with Initial Adjustments in Lightroom. Bring your laptops (with Lightroom loaded – you can get a free trial by clicking here) and some images to work on (on a USB stick – ideally Raw images, but jpgs are fine if that’s all you have).
  • Photoshop Helpdesk – Brian Johnson is available for any issues you may be having using photoshop – bring along the images you want help with.

Revised DPI Competition Dates and hand-ins

After the no show of our judge for Round 1 of the DPI we have revised dates for both Round 1 and Round 2 of this competition.

  • Round 1 will now be held on Tuesday 8th November and is being judged by Liz Hatten. Anyone who has not yet passed Mark Seton their entries have until midnight on the 1st November to get them in.
  • Round 2 will now be held on 29th November and will be judged by Ken Payne. Deadline for everyone’s images for this round is midnight on 22nd November
