Well its the end of a (finally) lovely sunny Sunday. Hope you all managed to get out and about with your cameras. I went to Cambridge and it was just lovely…roll on spring!
Anyway camera club business:
First up Kevin has messaged me regarding a potential deal on 40cm x 50cm mounting card. The owner of the shop has said he would do a deal if we put a large order in. He will require 30 plus sheets to be ordered, he will pre-cut them to 40cm x 50cm and they will be somewhere around £1.20 each, but not confirmed yet. I will have a sign up sheet at the welcome desk on tuesday, please put your name and how many sheets you would like and then we can see if we have enough people/orders to make it work. Thanks Kevin!
Next its the second meeting of studio club on Saturday, Brian has sent out a seperate email regarding this, please let Brian or myself know if you have any questions. If you are not booked onto this, its now too late, but please see Brian to get your name on the list for the next one.
Please bring your money for the sweatshirts/fleeces on Tuesday. You still have time to place an order as I will be sending it off at the end of the week. They will have the club logo embroidered on the front (with the added option of adding further text if you wish). The prices are £12.99 for the sweatshirt and £16.00 for the zip up fleece. They are available in Navy, Black or Grey.
This is your last chance to get booked on the weekend away too. Friday 23rd May – Monday 26th May. This year we are going to the Isle of Wight. We will be staying at The Bembridge Coast Hotel. The weekend will cost £230 per person (approx) which will include 3 nights, with dinner, bed and breakfast. The ferry is half price at £45 per car return. (there are plenty of spaces/lifts being offered). If you are still unsure please have a chat with us, there are lots of new members already booked on. It really is a good weekend and a great way to get to know each other better as well as picking up invaluable tips. If you have reserved your place please bring £30 per person deposit on tuesday, the balance is due the first week of April.
A quick date for your diaries: Saturday 15th March will be the annual BSCC fundraising quiz night. Its always a fun evening and raises much needed funds for the club. Its only £8.50 per ticket and includes a ploughman’s supper. At this stage I need to know how many people you have in your team.
Finally David has produced a note to help us all out with the forthcoming Photo Task and the Peter Chasteney competition. If you are yet to enter anything this year these could be for you.
See you all Tuesday! Its the next round of the print competitions – both monochrome and colour. The judge is Ron Tear and he always provides an interesting evening of judging.
