Hello & Good Evening Everyone from a not-so-sunny Kernow,
I therefore start this week’s update with my apologies: I will be absent this Tuesday as I am currently in Cornwall for a week. As most of you know it’s where I went to university and met my lovely better half, Ali, so it’s a bit of a special place for us. I have my brand new 300mm lens which I bought for my forthcoming Alaska trip which I need to get used to, so will be having fun practising with that.
So, Tuesday sees ‘summer skies‘ on the agenda. As both myself and Brian will be on our holidays, Mark Seton has very kindly agreed to lead the evening. Meet in the main Hatfield forest car park (by the pay booth) at 7.45pm. Fingers crossed for some decent weather and then you should get some decent sunset pics… bring your tripods!
Next up; If you were inspired by Jonathon’s winning image last week, he has 5 tickets available for free entry to Duxford on Saturday 27th July. Being a day before a flying event (Spitfires Merlins) and Motors there is a good chance of some flying taking place. If you fancy this please let me know asap as it will be a case of first come first served.
Next week we have the mid-summer meal. This is an annual event organised by Bill Edwards. It’s always a lovely evening and if you get there early you can take a few snaps first. The venue is different this year: The Bell Inn, Great Bardfield, CM7 4SA, £14.50. If you would like to attend, you can order your food on the night but please email: Bill this week and le him know you are coming.
I have also recieved feedback regarding the monthly photo competition. Apparently you are all a little unsure about what it is and feel that there needs to be ‘proper rules.’ Therefore you can now find these on the website. Please remember that this competition is quite informal and really just a bit of fun, with the aim of getting some free exposure. Nevertheless, please do get involved and send in your images.
